Job summary

Sobeys Inc. in Surrey, BC is seeking a Meat Department teammate to support daily operations and deliver exceptional customer service. You will work under the Meat Department Manager to lead staff, ensure quality cuts, train employees, and maintain department standards in a fast-paced retail setting.

The role emphasizes independent work, effective communication, and adherence to health and safety rules, with opportunities for growth and team development within Sobeys’ store family.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Leadership to coach staff and train employees.
• Health and safety awareness is an asset.
• Minimum of 12 months meat retail experience and high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to meet customer needs.
• Supervise meat personnel in the absence of the Meat Manager.
• Promote an employee culture of coaching and development.
• Complete customer meat orders.
• Receive meat orders.
• Perform daily meat preparation.
• Merchandise the Meat Department.
• Maintain sanitation standards.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.
• Perform administrative duties as required.
