Job summary

Bison Transport Inc. in Alberta is seeking a permanent Tractor Technician to join our maintenance team. You will work with the Service Coordinator, Trailer Technicians, and other Mechanics to keep our fleet safe and on the road.

This role requires a licensed tractor technician, experience on heavy equipment, and the ability to diagnose problems during inspections and prescribe remedies. Competitive benefits and career development are available.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Tractor Technician.
• Experience on tractors as Heavy Equipment Apprentice or Technician.
• Mandatory qualification to perform Safeties.
• Diagnosing and time-management abilities.
• Provide superior customer service to Drivers.
• Support Apprentices throughout their apprenticeship.
• Basic computer skills (paperless work orders).
• Able to work unsupervised.
• Hold a valid Driver's License.
• Physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Job description

Tractor Technician is a permanent, full-time position. You will work in conjunction with the Service Coordinator, Trailer Technician/Mechanics and Tractor Technician/Mechanics to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the Bison fleet in a timely and efficient manner by diagnosing problems found during inspections prescribing the correct remedial action.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Tractor Technician
• Experience working on tractors as a Heavy Equipment Apprentice or Technician
• Previous experience and qualification to perform Safeties are considered mandatory in this position
• Demonstrated diagnosing and time-management abilities
• Ability to provide superior customer service to our Drivers
• Support and encourage Apprentices throughout their apprenticeship
• Basic level computer skills (paperless work order entry)
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Hold a valid Driver's License.
• May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift and carry items weighing 50 lbs or less.

Location and Shift Schedules

• South Shop - 234090 Wrangler Road, Rocky View, AB - Day shift: This position is subject to 4-10 hour days, Monday to Thursday shift schedule, hours of work are 06:00-16:30.
