Job summary

Bison Transport Inc in Alberta is seeking a permanent Tractor Technician to maintain and repair the fleet. You will work with the Service Coordinator and other Technicians to diagnose issues found during inspections and prescribe the correct remedial actions.

The role requires a licensed Tractor Technician, experience on tractors, ability to perform safeties, strong diagnostics and time-management, and a commitment to customer service for our drivers.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Tractor Technician.
• Experience working on tractors as a Heavy Equipment Apprentice or Technician.
• Permits safeties to be performed; mandatory in this position.
• Demonstrated diagnosing and time-management abilities.
• Ability to provide superior customer service to our Drivers.
• Support and encourage Apprentices throughout their apprenticeship.
• Basic level computer skills (paperless work order entry).
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Hold a valid Driver's License.
• May lift and carry items weighing 50 lbs or less.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the Bison fleet in a timely and efficient manner.
• Diagnose problems found during inspections and prescribe the correct remedial action.
• Collaborate with the Service Coordinator, Trailer Technician/Mechanics and Tractor Technician/Mechanics.
• Assist Apprentices and provide coaching as needed.
• Complete paperless work orders and maintain accurate records.
• Work on-site at South Shop, Rocky View, AB, 6:00–16:30, Monday–Thursday.
