Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join Boundary Hospital in Grand Forks, BC. The role involves nursing assessments, planning and providing patient care in a fast-paced setting, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Shifts are days and nights on a rotating schedule. This is a relief full-time position until March 08, 2028, or the return of the incumbent; BC licensure and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Operates within competency guidelines and unit protocols under BC standards.

About the Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

  • Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
  • Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
  • Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols
This is a Relief Full Time opportunity until March 08, 2028, or the return of the incumbent.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 08:00 to 20:00, 20:00 to 08:00 hours.

The Boundary Hospital is a very busy level 1 community hospital that has a catchment population of approximately 12,000 residents. The site offers medical, long-term care and emergency services and many community health programs are co-located at the hospital facility, which makes for a very collegial, multi-disciplinary team environment.
