Interior Health Authority in Kamloops, BC is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join Royal Inland Hospital. The role is a permanent full-time position with rotating day and night shifts from 07:30 to 19:30 and 19:30 to 07:30.

The LPN will perform assessments, provide nursing care with a multidisciplinary team, and administer medications in line with policies and BCCNM standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with an active BC license.
• Works within a multidisciplinary team to plan and provide care.
• Capable of administering medications per policy.

About The Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a Permanent Full Time (1.0) opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:30 to 19:30, 19:30 to 07:30 hours.

Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals.

Located in Kamloops, RIH offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services. Specialty services include ambulatory psychiatry, elderly mental health, clinical nutrition, and lung health. The 6S Unit at the Royal Inland Hospital is a very busy vascular, general surgery and Urology unit.
