Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join Princeton General Hospital in Princeton, BC. This Permanent Part Time (0.66) position offers rotating day and night shifts from 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00.

The successful candidate will perform nursing assessments, administer medications, and provide patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, while adhering to BC College of Nurses and Midwives standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized Practical Nurse program.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current CPR certification required; upload copy with application.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Operates within the Standards of Practice as outlined by BCCNM and organizational policies.

About the Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

  • Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
  • Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
  • Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a Permanent Part Time (0.66) opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.

The Princeton General Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the Okanagan health service area. Located south west of Penticton, the hospital offers services including acute care, laboratory, and 24 hour emergency.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
