Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Medicine Hat cares for residents in a welcoming community. We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (Casual) to provide nursing care according to policy and resident plans while maintaining high standards of comfort, dignity, and respect.

You will work under the Wellness Manager, ensuring effective communication with residents, families, and staff, and contribute to a compassionate, team-based care environment in a seniors' care community.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing with the Alberta College of Licensed Practical Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Good judgement and ability to foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician orders, resident plan of care, and LPN scope of practice.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care through sound nursing principles.
• Create a welcoming, supportive environment for residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care and communicate with residents and families, guiding staff.

What you'll be doing:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff

Who you are:

• In good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
