Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Airdrie, Alberta is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our community. You will provide nursing care under physician orders and the resident plan of care, delivering compassionate support that respects dignity and independence.

Reporting to the Wellness Manager, you will supervise staff, communicate with residents and families, and monitor changes in status to ensure timely, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Alberta and in good standing.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Good judgement with ability to foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, physician orders, and the resident plan of care.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care using established nursing practices.
• Create a welcoming environment for residents through teamwork and effective communication.
• Oversee resident care, including regular updates to residents and families.
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, with ongoing resident assessments.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who You Are

• In good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
