Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking a Part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to provide focused nursing care to residents at Shasta Care Community. You will work under the Wellness Manager to support daily living with dignity, comfort and respect.

Responsibilities include delivering nursing care per orders, supervising care staff, communicating with residents and families, and participating in admissions and status changes. Availability for various shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Must be in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health industry is an asset.
• Ability to identify risks and foster a positive work environment.

• Provide nursing care per established policy, physician orders, and resident care plans.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care, including communication with residents and families, and provide guidance to staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit.
• Admission, readmission, and change in status with ongoing assessment.

Reporting to the Wellness Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the Shasta Care Community team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are:

• In good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
