Job summary

Clean Harbors Fort McMurray AB is seeking a Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our safety‑minded team. You will perform inspections, diagnostics and repairs on light and heavy equipment with a rotating schedule of 14 on/14 off for commuters or 7 on/7 off for locals.

We offer camp provided lodging at Ruth Lake Lodge or COLA for locals, plus travel allowance, and a competitive wage starting at 48.15 CAD/hour with extensive benefits and RRSP matching after probation.

Qualifications

• Licensed/Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic credential required.
• 3+ years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic.
• Experience with hydraulics and vacuum trucks is an asset.
• Experience with J Pro diagnostic software is an asset.
• Class 5 Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment.
• Carry out routine and specific maintenance on fleet.
• Complete repair orders and communicate servicing needs to supervision.
• Maintain warranty and maintenance documentation.
• Disassemble, inspect, and replace worn or broken parts.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area.
• Journeypersons may mentor apprentices.

Clean Harbors Fort McMurray AB is looking for a Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their safety conscious team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for routine maintenance, inspections, and repairing of all company fleet. 11.5 hours/day there is a 14 on/14 off rotation for commuters or 7 on/7 off rotation for locals to Fort McMurray area. We provide turnaround (radial) travel allowance & camp provided (Ruth Lake Lodge), or COLA for locals.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
• Complete and follow all Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs)
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine and specific maintenance on company vehicles and equipment.
• Complete repair orders.
• Communicate equipment servicing needs as required with Supervisor.
• Complete and maintain warranty and maintenance documentation.
• Disassemble, inspect, fit and replace worn or broken parts.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through regular housekeeping activities.
• Journeypersons may mentor apprentices

Qualifications

• Licensed/Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• 3+ years’ experience working as a Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic.
• Previous experience working with Hydraulics is an asset.
• Previous experience working on Vacuum Trucks is an asset.
• Ability to use (J Pro) diagnostic software
• Class 5 Driver’s License required.
