Job summary

The City of Markham is seeking a skilled technician to maintain fleet vehicles and equipment in optimal condition, ensuring compliance with legislated standards and internal requirements.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Fleet & Supplies, you will perform inspections, diagnose faults, and execute repairs across automotive, turf, and heavy equipment while meeting service level expectations. Valid licenses and strong tool proficiency are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid 310S Automotive Certificate and 310T Truck & Coach Certificate.
• 7 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform mandatory commercial vehicle inspections per National Safety Code and CVOR.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and fuel systems on various equipment.
• Standby and occasional overtime as required.
