Job summary

The City of Markham is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to inspect and repair vehicles and equipment to meet legislated standards and internal requirements. The role requires a DZ license or ability to obtain one, a 310S/310T certificate, and at least seven years of related experience.

Expect Monday–Friday shifts 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional on-call duty. You will work under the Supervisor, Fleet & Supplies, performing diagnostics, welding and fabrication tasks as needed while

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Automotive Technician Certificate 310S and Truck and Coach 310T.
• Candidates registered as an apprentice for second certificate may be considered at lower rate.
• 7 years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mandatory commercial vehicle inspections in line with NSC and HV Act requirements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems on various vehicles and equipment.
• Standby and occasional overtime may be required.
• Ensure compliance with safety and corporate standards.
