Job summary

Cornerstone Dental Vernon is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our patient-centered team. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist dentists and hygienists, take X-rays, and ensure a clean, safe environment while supporting patient education and care.

Qualifications

  • Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required.
  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post‑treatment care.
  • Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high‑quality care.
  • Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.

The wage for this Dental Assistant position is $33-$38/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

Your Role

About You
