Job summary

Medicine Hat College invites applications for a casual Library Assistant I in our Vera Bracken Library. The role reports to the Manager, Library Customer Service and involves delivering, setting up, checking and retrieving equipment and software for classes and events.

Qualifications

• Certificate in a related field with experience in customer service.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Knowledge of computer and modern technology operations required.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an environment with pressing deadlines.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to interact and function as a team and to provide customer service.
• Physically able to do a lot of walking and lifting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Delivery, set up, checking and retrieving equipment and software for classes, lectures, conferences and workshops.
• Provide customer service to library users, helping them locate, use and borrow a wide variety of library resources and services.
• Assist users with operation of equipment (multimedia equipment, printers, photocopiers) and troubleshoot problems.

Education

Certificate in a related field with customer service experience
