Job summary

Burlington Public Library is seeking a Customer & Programming Associate to join the Customer Experience team. This part-time, permanent role focuses on proactive customer service, programming support, and skilled use of the Integrated Library System.

The position requires an undergraduate degree or diploma, with a Library Techniques diploma considered an asset; prior library or customer service experience is beneficial, and programming delivery experience is also advantageous.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or post-secondary diploma is required.
• Library Techniques diploma is an asset.
• Previous library or customer service experience is an asset.
• Previous program delivery experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive customer-centered service in person, by phone, and online.
• Operate the Integrated Library System and library tools to complete routines and offer tech support.
• Instruct and assist customers in using library technology and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform materials handling tasks.
• Support collection initiatives to keep an accurate, tidy, balanced, accessible collection.
• Deliver and support programming as directed.
• Participate in system-wide teams and projects as required.
