Job summary

City of Laval is seeking a coordinator for the Anne-Marie Alonzo library to supervise staff and manage library activities within a major cultural hub in Laval. You will coordinate teams, ensure operations run smoothly, and contribute to the integration with the L'Épicentre-Culturel project.

The challenges that await you

Perform various tasks related to the coordination and supervision of employees assigned to the activities of the central Anne-Marie Alonzo library.

The large building named L'Épicentre-Culturel will bring together under one roof the Central Anne-Marie Alonzo Library and the Professional Artistic Creation Center.

The ideal profile for us

• Hold a DEC in Documentation Techniques;
• Have two (2) years of relevant experience in the position, particularly in public libraries and in team coordination or supervision;
• Have an interest in literature and general culture and a good understanding of the roles played by public libraries in the 21st century;
• Have a very good command of French, both spoken and written;
• Possess excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills and know how to work in a team;
• Be comfortable with computers and new technologies and have a good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
• Be organized and able to work under pressure, respond adequately to unforeseen situations, and demonstrate great adaptability.

Schedule

For the year 2026 and part of the year 2027, the schedule will be as follows: From Monday to Thursday, from 8:15 AM to 5:30 PM

Once the library opens to the public, scheduled for fall 2027, the Alternating schedule will be implemented as indicated below:
