What You'll Do

Reporting to the Lead Branch Supervisor, the Library Clerk provides information services and readers’ advisory to patrons, carries out routine duties at the circulation desk to lend and receive library items, conducts other clerical or maintenance tasks as required, and assists with library programming.

Education & Experience
  • High School (secondary school) diploma
  • One year of previous experience in a related role
Skills & Abilities
  • Experience with office equipment and the use of computers
  • Experience planning, promoting, and running programs
  • Strong customer service background
  • Ability to lift book bins, maneuver book carts and shelve books
  • Ability to work independent and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage time appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Proficient with technology
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Support the Canadian Library Association’s Statement on Intellectual Freedom
  • A recent and clear Police check including vulnerable sector check
  • First Aid Certification required as scheduled
