The Bruce County invites applications for a Casual Housekeeping Aide at Gateway Haven, Wiarton, ON. You will help maintain a clean, safe environment for residents under the supervision of the Environmental Services Manager.

Ideal candidates have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of housekeeping experience, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work within a team. A vulnerable sector check is required.

• One year of housekeeping experience, preferably in an institutional setting.

What You’ll Do

Under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager, the Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment while working in a manner respectful of a residents’ right to privacy.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
• One year prior experience performing housekeeping duties, preferably in an institutional setting

Skills & Abilities

• Mature, reliable and able to work with minimal supervision
• Able to work within a team environment
• Genuine interest in the well-being of the elderly
• Demonstrated patience, adaptability and flexibility
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
• Clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
