Qualifications

  • Ability to handle multiple demands with confidentiality and good judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Support local and national Legal Talent initiatives, including recruitment and onboarding.
  • Coordinate performance reviews and compensation processes for Associates and Law Clerks.
  • Manage Workday tasks in life-cycle processes and budget tracking.
  • Assist with events, mentorship, secondments and off-boarding activities.
  • Prepare reports and assist with budget, data entry and ad-hoc projects.

4 days per week in the office – TorontoWe are looking for a Legal Talent Coordinator to join our incredible and dynamic Legal Talent team based in Toronto.As Legal Talent Coordinator, you will help to manage all aspects of the Associate and Law Clerk programs of our Toronto and Ottawa offices, including recruitment, onboarding and orientation, performance management and compensation, training and development, secondments, off-boarding, event, gifts and program planning and execution, mentorship and other engagement initiatives. There will also be opportunities to support national processes and projects (including performance management and compensation), liaising with the broader Legal Talent team nationally and other internal groups as necessary, as well as matters relating to local student recruitment and programs during peak periods. The Legal Talent Coordinator role also encompasses a broad range of other responsibilities, from supporting budget processes and tracking, expense coordination, data entry to reporting and project work.The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of project management and organizational/execution skills, discretion, and independent judgment, while being committed to contributing to a culture of excellence with a spirit of positivity, creativity, teamwork and “going above and beyond” attitude. They will maintain a very high level of confidentiality, instill trust, consider strategy, and act proactively and autonomously while soliciting input and guidance, as appropriate.You will be focusing on:Supporting all key Legal Talent initiatives on a local level but also on a national basis when requiredCoordinating all aspects of the lateral recruitment process, including application intake, liaising with candidates, interview coordination, offer letter preparation, and all related Workday stepsCoordinating and helping to manage all aspects relating to onboarding and orientation planning for lawyers and Law ClerksManaging and supporting social event planning and related committee meetings as well as aspects of engagement and gifting initiativesSupporting mentorship program initiatives, secondment processes and off-boarding stepsCoordinating performance review and compensation processes for Associates and Law ClerksActing as a contact for questions and providing interpretation in the areas relating to policies and procedures applicable to lawyers and Law ClerksInitiating and managing Workday tasks in connection with the Associate/Law Clerk life-cycleManaging invoices, reimbursements and expenses, maintaining accurate records and budget tracking, meeting and town hall set-ups, boardroom bookings and calendar managementUtilizing advanced Excel skills to create, update, and analyze people-related data as well as advanced PowerPoint skills in connection with a range of presentationsAssisting with ad-hoc projects as requiredWhat you bring to the role:Minimum of 3 years of legal talent or human resources experience, preferably in a professional services environment (legal, accounting firm) with comfort dealing with all levels of the organizationUniversity degree or college diploma with a specialization in Business Administration or Human ResourcesExperience with HRIS software (ideally Workday), exceptionally strong Microsoft skills across Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and solid proficiency with spreadsheetsExceptional project management, oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsThe ideal candidate:is a motivated self-starter with a strong service ethic who enjoys being creative, is adaptive and team-oriented, and can effectively balance multiple demands under pressure;is able to advance matters independently, using judgment and discretion, with exceptional attention to detail; andunderstands the importance of and demonstrates strict adherence to confidentiality of information.Why join our team:Hybrid work environmentRetirement savings plan with employer contributionBenefit premiums paid by the firmTelemedicine servicesWellness matters: Flexible health and wellness allowance that covers much more than gym memberships!Training and development programs based on your interests and needsThe salary bands provided reflect the typical range for this role in the region indicated.
