Here’s a position that offers a unique blend of high-level advisory work, complex files, negotiations, and hearings!
Our client, CBC/Radio-Canada (“CBC”), is Canada’s national public broadcaster and a well-known name. A federal Crown corporation established in 1936, CBC employs over 7,000 people and delivers content across a wide range of platforms, including websites, streaming services, podcasts, television, and radio.
Reporting to the National Director, Labour Law – French Services, you will advise various business units on strategic approaches to numerous labour and employment law matters. You will apply your strong negotiation and drafting skills to represent the Corporation before administrative and judicial bodies as needed. While your primary focus will be on collective labour relations—particularly the interpretation of collective agreement and grievance handling—you will also work on individual employment matters, occupational health and safety (OHS) cases, and human rights issues. Additionally, you will monitor legislative and regulatory developments, contribute to updating internal policies, and actively participate in special projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Joining CBC means contributing to a public-interest mission while working in a dynamic and engaging environment. It also means working alongside passionate teams in a culture that values rigour, integrity, innovation, and diversity — all at the heart of a nationally respected organization.
If you have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in labour and employment law and are called to the Bar in Quebec or Ontario, we would like to hear from you. While not required, experience in federal law is considered an asset. Ref: #33775
