Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel specializing in Intellectual Property to join its dynamic legal team. This remote-first role allows you to safeguard the company's IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, across global markets.

You will advise on IP strategy, prosecution, enforcement, and licensing, and provide training to internal teams. Admitted SA attorney with 7+ years in IP is required. Fully remote in SA.

Qualifications

• Admitted SA attorney with a strong focus on Intellectual Property Law.
• Minimum of 7 years of IP law experience including prosecution, enforcement and transactional work.
• Proven experience managing a diverse IP portfolio.

Responsibilities

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for protecting and managing the company's valuable IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of IP law and a passion for safeguarding innovation in a globally connected, remote-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute IP strategies to protect the company's innovations and brand.
