Job summary

Clark Wilson LLP is seeking a detail‑oriented Legal Assistant with litigation experience to join our Vancouver team. This full‑time, on‑site role supports lawyers, clients, and the office with accuracy and promptness.

You will manage court dates, filings, document drafting, and deadlines, while maintaining orderly files and calendars. The ideal candidate has 1+ year of litigation support, strong communication, and a client‑centered approach.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited legal assistant program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of legal assistant experience with litigation support.
  • Familiarity with litigation procedures, court filings, and deadlines.
  • Strong technical skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, BC Online.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize high volume of tasks and deadlines.
  • Client-centered approach with commitment to service.
  • Follow instructions and work under strict deadlines.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to supporting lawyers.
  • Dedicated to providing service beyond expectations.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Set court dates and communicate with court registries.
  • Arrange court filings and assist with applications.
  • Prepare, draft, edit, and format legal documents.
  • Coordinate service and filing of court documents.
  • Maintain efficient file management and bring-forward systems.
  • Maintain calendars, manage email, and assist lawyers with daily tasks.
  • Monitor litigation deadlines, court dates, discoveries, mediations, and other key dates.
  • Liaise with assistants, paralegals, lawyers, clients, courts, and others regarding file progress.
  • Perform general administrative duties as required.

We are seeking a Legal Assistant with litigation experience to join our team. This is a full-time, fully on-site, permanent position—ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and looking to continue building their career in a collaborative and fast-paced litigation practice.

What You’ll Be Doing

You are detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable supporting a busy litigation practice. You enjoy contributing to high-quality work while providing outstanding support to lawyers, clients, and colleagues. This role is 100% on site.

Daily responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • setting court dates and communicating with court registries;
  • arranging court filings and assisting with applications and other litigation-related procedures;
  • preparing, drafting, editing, and formatting correspondence, court pleadings, and other legal documents;
  • coordinating service and filing of court documents in accordance with applicable deadlines and procedures;
  • maintaining efficient file management and bring-forward systems;
  • maintaining calendars, managing email, and assisting lawyers with the day-to-day management of their practices;
  • monitoring and coordinating litigation deadlines, court dates, discoveries, mediations, and other key dates;
  • liaising with legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers, clients, courts, and other external parties regarding file progress; and
  • performing general administrative duties as required
