Qualifications

  • Graduate from a recognized Legal Administration Assistant or Paralegal program.
  • Minimum of five years litigation experience, preferably in insurance defence.

Our firm continues to grow, so we are currently searching for a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Vancouver office.

The ideal candidates will have:
  1. Exceptional attention to detail and is adept at setting priorities
  2. Strong grammatical skills, including punctuation and proofreading
  3. Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  4. Organization and time management skills
  5. The capability to be an energetic self-starter who initiates and anticipates needs
  6. A passion for providing superior client service
  7. The ability to creatively solve problems, make decisions, facilitate and manage deadlines
  8. The dexterity to remain calm under pressure
  9. The aptitude to work both independently and within a team
  10. The capability to work full-time Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
  11. The availability to work in the Vancouver office a minimum of three (3) days per week
Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate, manage and schedule meetings and appointments
  2. Draft, review and send communications
  3. Open and close client files
  4. Conduct searches and conflict checks
  5. Update and maintain client/matter lists
  6. Prepare a high volume of legal documents and correspondence
  7. Set court dates and discoveries and communicate with registries
  8. Organize documents for court
  9. Maintain an efficient file management and BF system
  10. Perform a wide variety of support duties including but not limited to arranging couriers, faxing, scanning, photocopying and maintaining a paper and electronic filing system
  11. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  1. A graduate from a recognized Legal Administration Assistant, Paralegal and/or Law Clerk program
  2. In-depth knowledge of legal principles and practices
  3. A minimum of five (5) years litigation experience, preferably in insurance defence
  4. Exceptional technical skills with Microsoft Office
  5. Demonstrated ability using electronic file management systems, preferably iManage
  6. Knowledge of Elite 3E
