Job summary

City Property Management, a division of the Carrington Group, is seeking a Leasing Agent for Edmonton, AB to handle leasing and administration of multi-residential properties. You will show units, qualify residents, and negotiate leases to maximize occupancy while delivering excellent customer service.

Reporting to the Property Manager, you will manage applications, deposits and move-in/out inspections, with duties including record-keeping, tenancy checks and coordinated maintenance.

Qualifications

• Completed post-secondary diploma in Administration, Sales, Business, or related field (Canadian standards).
• Two or more years in a sales/customer service role.
• Knowledge of Residential Tenancies Act, laws and legislation preferred.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook) is preferred.
• Experience using Yardi property management software is desirable.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Criminal Records Check to company standards required.

Responsibilities

• Market, show/rent apartments and respond to telephone and walk-in inquiries.
• Record telephone and in-person visits, complete traffic reports and market surveys.
• Provide prospective residents with suites, community information and forms; assist with applications and deposits.
• Respond to resident questions or complaints promptly and compassionately.
• Perform landlord reference checks, process credit checks, and prepare lease agreements.
• Follow up with applicants regarding application status in a timely manner.
• Ensure apartment is ready for move-in on agreed date.
• Conduct move-in/move-out inspections with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Inform Property Manager of deficiencies or problems in the building.
• Promote community programs to foster a strong sense of community.
• Demonstrate sales skills to minimize vacancies and reach occupancy goals.
• Assist with maintenance tasks and coordinating contractors as needed.
