Job summary

Killam Apartment REIT is seeking a Leasing Representative in Mississauga, ON. The role involves fielding leasing inquiries, showing suites, following up with prospects, processing applications and leases, and using Yardi CRM to manage leasing activity. A mix of in-person and remote communications is expected.

The base salary ranges from $45,000 to $52,000 CAD annually, plus leasing commissions. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in leasing or related real estate roles, strong communication skills,

Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.5 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. Killam's strategy to drive value and profitability focuses on three priorities: (1) increase earnings from the existing portfolio; (2) expand the portfolio and diversify geographically through accretive acquisitions, targeting newer properties and dispositions of non-core assets; and (3) develop high-quality properties in its core markets.

We are looking for an energetic and results oriented Leasing Representative to join our team in Mississauga on a full-time basis. We offer a competitive salary plus commission structure (consisting of a base salary in the range of $45,000-$52,000 annually, plus leasing commissions) and training and support to help you launch your career with Killam.

Responsibilities:

• Field all leasing communication by phone, email and in person;
• Perform showings of suites and tours of properties;
• Follow up with prospective tenants after showing to close the sale;
• Assist with administrative duties;
• Process applications and lease signings;
• Perform bi-weekly market surveys;
• Utilize Yardi Customer Relationship Software in day-to-day leasing functions;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, or experience in the property management and/or real estate industry;
• 1-2 years’ experience in sales, marketing and/or customer service;
• A bachelor’s degree is considered an asset;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel;
• Previous experience posting ads on Kijiji, and familiarity with Yardi is considered an asset;
• Must be flexible and able to work evenings/weekends.
