Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Yardi familiarity and posting ads on Kijiji are assets.
• Must be flexible to work evenings/weekends; willing to travel between properties. Mileage paid.

Responsibilities

• Field all leasing communications by phone, email and in person.

• Follow up with prospective tenants after showing to close the lease.

Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.5 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. Killam's strategy to drive value and profitability focuses on three priorities: (1) increase earnings from the existing portfolio; (2) expand the portfolio and diversify geographically through accretive acquisitions, targeting newer properties and dispositions of non-core assets; and (3) develop high-quality properties in its core markets.

We are looking for an energetic and results-oriented Leasing Representative to join our team in the Cambridge area for a 12-month term. This position would be ideal for someone with strong customer service experience. We offer a competitive salary plus commission structure (consisting of a base salary in the range of $45,000-$55,000 annually, plus leasing commissions).

Responsibilities:

• Field all leasing communication by phone, email and in person;
• Perform showings of suites and tours of properties;
• Follow up with prospective tenants after showing to close the sale;
• Assist with administrative duties;
• Process applications and lease signings;
• Perform bi-weekly market surveys;
• Utilize Yardi Customer Relationship Software in day-to-day leasing functions;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, or experience in the property management and/or real estate industry;
• 1-2 years’ experience in sales, marketing and/or customer service;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel;
• Previous experience posting ads on Kijiji, and familiarity with Yardi is considered an asset;
• Must be flexible and able to work evenings/weekends; and,
• Must be willing to travel between properties for showings. Mileage is compensated on a per KM rate.
