ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Learning Specialist serves as an integral team member of the Education team, within the Standards business unit, under the Products and Strategic Offerings portfolio, reporting to the Education Program Manager. The HSO content development business unit generates HSO standards, assessment programs, education, and quality improvement solutions.

We are seeking a skilled Learning Specialist with experience in designing engaging and interactive training content with a focus on self-paced eLearning and microlearning that meet the needs of our clients, teams, and surveyors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult learning, instructional design, and eLearning technology in the field of health and social services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop learning content on quality and safety topics using multiple authoring tools in collaboration with colleagues across business units, and in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) and the education team.
  • Evaluate, revise and update training content.
  • Incorporate multimedia and interactive elements such as animation, voiceover, and graphics into learning content.
  • Content integration and functionality with the LMS, SCORM and xAPI.
  • Effectively project manage timelines, scope, and quality deliverables.

Must Have Qualifications

  • Degree in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in creating eLearning, online and microlearning content.
  • Advanced skills in eLearning authoring tools (Articulate 360, Biteable, Camtasia).
  • Expertise in applying adult learning principles to user-centered learning experiences.
  • Ability to design interactive content and translate complex subjects into concise learning modules.
  • Basic skills in multimedia and editing.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with SMEs to transform their expertise into applicable user-centered learning resources.
  • Manage time effectively in an independent online work environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare sector, clinical quality improvement, and patient safety.
  • Established background working with standards, accreditation, regulation, or policy related content.
  • Bilingual in French and English

In Your First 30-90 Days:

  • Complete our orientation program with other new hires to learn about HSO, our values of trust, inclusion, collaboration, innovation and learning, and our mission of quality improvement in healthcare and social services.
  • Set your performance and learning objectives for the year in collaboration with your people manager.
  • Meet regularly with your people manager to discuss your learning progression and alignment for your accountabilities.
  • Take on assigned initiatives or projects for your role.
