Job summary

Finning Canada is hiring a Leadhand to join the Saskatoon field team. You will troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment, provide leadership to others, and manage service operations on a Monday–Friday schedule in Saskatoon.

The package includes hourly wage of $52.86–$54.15, 4% bonus target, generous PTO, pension contributions, ESPP with company match, and comprehensive medical benefits with paid CAT training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal preferred).
• Class 5 driver's license with clean abstract.
• CAT general line experience with troubleshooting (5+ yrs).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Applications, SIS, and CAT Web tools.
• Finning S-Levels or Tier 4 training is a plus.
• Experience with Caterpillar equipment/engines is an asset.
• Engine or component rebuilding experience is an asset.

As a Leadhand, you are responsible for a variety of troubleshooting and repair duties, as well as providing leadership and instruction to others in their service and repair of Caterpillar equipment.

• Wage: $52.86 - $54.15 / hr

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

• Model the way for a safe, environmentally sound, and healthy work behaviors in support of Finning’s Safety Policies, Programs, and initiatives

• Collaborate with the stakeholders at the Branch and in the Field to ensure the successful execution of operations

• Coordinate and schedule work orders and repairs, provide warranty decisions and administer claims as appropriate

• Leadeffective resolutionsfor customer and supplier issues to achieve high customer loyalty

• Motivate and develop team members to achievepersonal andteam performance objectives

• Provide guidance to the teamson Finning policies

• Review and monitorwarranty statements to ensure business objectives are achieved

• Manage and execute training requirements, performance evaluations and coaching sessions for all direct reports

• Perform regular service troubleshooting and repair duties as assigned by the Supervisor in a timely fashion and on customer site.

• Provide technical expertise on the shop floor and field operations.

• Provide feedback to Supervisor concerning any issues identified by team members as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal is preferred)
• Class 5 drivers license and a successful drivers abstract
• Previous CAT general line experience including troubleshooting (5 year minimum).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Applications, SIS and Caterpillar Corporate Web Navigation
• Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
• Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment/engines would be considered an asset.
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset.

• This position is based in Saskatoon, on a Monday to Friday shift.
