Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) invites applications for a technical services role within the WestMARC Seating and Wheelchair Service at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow. The post holder will work in a small workshop and oversee wheelchairs and seating equipment, coordinating tasks for technicians to ensure timely delivery and repairs.

Qualifications

• Educated to a minimum of SCQF Level 8 / SVQ Level 4 / HND in a technical discipline, or equivalent knowledge.
• Supervisory and technical experience is required.
• Experience using Microsoft 365 applications and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to the WestMARC Seating and Wheelchair Service.
• Manage configuration and modification of complex wheelchairs and allocate work to technicians.
• Oversee repair of wheelchairs and seating equipment returned by users or engineers.
• Maintain effective relationships with clinical staff to ensure service delivery.
• Commission, fit, and maintain equipment as requested by the clinical team.
• Instruct carers and users in safe use of equipment per manufacturer guidance.
• Deliver high standards of customer service to stakeholders and patients.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and identify maintenance issues.
