Job summary

RBC in Toronto seeks an experienced AppSec Engineer to define the AppSec strategy and own the roadmap for DevSecOps and security controls. You will collaborate with product management to drive usability, quality, and debt reduction, and engage with development executives and vendors to align security with business needs.

You will lead AI adoption with guardrails for AI tools, track KPIs, manage releases end-to-end, and foster an learning culture within the developer community while delivering

Qualifications

• 5+ years AppSec engineering with tools like GitHub, JFrog Artifactory, Snyk, Aqua; Docker & Kubernetes expertise.
• Full-stack development (JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python or similar).
• API delivery, Data Management, and/or Business Analytics experience.
• Agile Product Management in technology environments.
• Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• AI Agent Frameworks and Langchain experience.
• Understanding of AI-driven operational efficiency, CI/CD enhancement, and working with models/MCP servers.
• DevOps proficiency (Git, Artifactory, Docker/K8s).
• Exceptional communication skills bridging technical and business audiences.
• Collaborative problem-solver with passion for user experience and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Define AppSec Strategy and roadmap for DevSecOps and security controls.
• Drive product excellence by partnering with product management to improve usability, quality, and reduce tech debt.
• Build strategic relationships with development executives and vendors to align security with business needs.
• Lead AI innovation by promoting AI adoption with guardrails for Agents, MCP, and code generation.
• Deliver measurable results by tracking KPIs, managing costs, and ROI.
• Innovate and educate to strengthen developer education and AppSec learning culture.
• Engage communities through meetups and user groups.
• Manage end-to-end release planning, documentation and execution.
