Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in nuclear and heavy industrial projects in Canada. The role focuses on mechanical design, piping, and program compliance across phases from concept to commissioning.

You will review technical documents, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and guide Designers and junior staff while maintaining schedule and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree in Mechanical from an accredited university or equivalent.
• P.Eng license is mandatory.
• Minimum 10 years of related mechanical engineering experience in heavy industrial environments.
• Knowledge of CSA N285.0, CSA B51, CSA N289 and ASME/ANSI standards.
• Willingness to become a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering work following QA programs, codes, standards, and regulations.
• Coordinate with client, suppliers, stakeholders and design teams.
• Involve in conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of CANDU or Nuclear process systems.
• Prepare piping supports, pipe sizing, and piping/equipment layout.
• Prepare DCPs and DCNs and related technical documents.
• Review supplier documents and perform bid analyses.
• Provide guidance to Designers and junior staff.
• Lead technical packages with teams as needed.
• Conduct site visits and field walk-downs.
• Support field construction, commissioning, and related activities.
