Job summary

Springcreekcareers is seeking a Montessori Preschool Lead Teacher (ECE) to create a calm, organized classroom for children aged 3–6. The role involves observing progress, communicating with families, collaborating with the director, and upholding Alberta licensing standards to ensure a safe, nurturing environment.

The successful candidate will hold Level 2 or 3 ECE certification and a Bachelor's in ECE, with at least 3 years of early learning experience; Montessori experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 ECE certification and a bachelor’s in ECE required.
• 3 years of experience in early learning or childcare.
• Montessori-inspired practice preferred.
• Background check and Emergency First Aid Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure active supervision and comply with Alberta licensing, ratio requirements.
• Create a calm, organized, welcoming classroom and support wellbeing.
• Lead planning and implementation of the classroom program with the Director.
• Prepare developmentally appropriate materials for Montessori-inspired and play-based learning.
• Observe and document progress and report concerns.
• Foster strong relationships with families and support transitions and routines.
