British Columbia Public School Employers' Association | Make a Future - Careers in BC Education seeks an experienced ECE Director to lead a Pre-Kindergarten program in a Montessori environment. You will oversee daily operations, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with provincial licensing, health, and safety requirements.

You will collaborate with school leadership, families, and the Inclusive Education team to support developmental milestones and foster a respectful, child-centered culture.

Qualificações

• Valid ECE certification/registration as recognized in BC.
• Knowledge of provincial childcare licensing and health & safety requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, administrators, families, and external professionals.
• Satisfactory criminal record/vulnerable sector screening and other employment requirements. Current First Aid/CPR certification, as required.
• Montessori training or experience in a Montessori environment is an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and oversee the daily operation of the Pre-Kindergarten program and classroom.
• Create and maintain a prepared, safe, orderly, and engaging Montessori environment.
• Implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences based on Montessori philosophy and best practices.
• Support children's development across social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language areas.
• Observe and document children's progress, interests, and milestones.
• Guide and mentor ECEs and support staff; provide clear classroom direction.
• Maintain appropriate child-to-staff ratios and safety practices.
• Establish positive relationships with children and families; communicate progress.
• Develop and maintain classroom documentation and records.
• Collaborate with Inclusive Education team for diverse learner needs.
• Ensure compliance with provincial licensing, health & safety, and Montessori standards.
