Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior/Intermediate Mine Water Quality Modelling Specialist to join its Environmental Services team. This role focuses on developing mine water quality models and supporting environmental assessments for mining projects, with travel to client sites as needed.

The successful candidate will lead technical work, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust water quality solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.Sc. in Geochemistry, Hydrogeology, or Earth Sciences/Engineering with a focus on water quality/geochemistry.
• Minimum of 10+ years of consulting experience in mining with mine water quality predictions/modelling (15+ years preferred).
• Professional registration or eligibility is required (P.Geo. or P.Eng.).

Responsibilities

• Support geochemical and water quality components of projects.
• Lead mine water quality modelling with GoldSim and contaminant transport terms.
• Mentor junior modelers and review complex modelling work.
• Collaborate on environmental assessments, monitoring programs, and permitting.
• Lead multi-discipline water-related modelling teams for mining projects.
