Job summary

Stantec’s Yellowknife office seeks a seasoned Mechanical Designer to lead the mechanical design of diverse projects in Northern Canada. You will develop design documentation, BIM models, and coordinate with architecture, structural, electrical teams to ensure design intent is met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and a licensed PE.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with HVAC and/or plumbing design.
• Knowledge of building codes and energy codes.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of projects as engineer of record.
• Develop design documentation and BIM models.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and electrical teams.
• Support cost estimating and value engineering.
• Ensure sustainable design principles are implemented.
