Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Energy and Resources team in Western Canada, with flexibility for other locations in Canada. You will develop mechanical models and drawings for surface and underground mining facilities, coordinating with engineers and designers across disciplines.

You will lead and mentor a team, prepare 3D/2D deliverables, and ensure designs meet project requirements while working with BIM tools and various Autodesk platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial engineering design packages.
• Associates degree or drafting certificate preferred (experience may substitute).
• REVIT education or experience required; certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate mechanical models and documents for large and small mining projects.
• Deliver complete design and documentation packages under supervision.
• Produce mechanical deliverables including general arrangements and bulk material handling equipment.
• Lead design reviews and coordinate with engineers, project managers and mining specialists.
• Mentor junior designers and coordinate multi-discipline work streams.
