Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Lead Hand for our Calgary, AB properties. You will lead maintenance tasks, renovate residences, and coordinate staff and contractors to address property needs in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work as a team, and also under minimal supervision.
• Renovations experience an asset.
• Plumbing, electrical, or HVAC experience an asset.
• Must have a valid Alberta driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences.
• General maintenance and/or painting.
• Knowledge of plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Participation in an on-call rotation.
• Distribute work orders.
• Coordinate and supervise maintenance staff to address property needs.
• Work with property managers and outside contractors.
• Obtain quotes on behalf of Maintenance and Project Managers.
• Maintain a safe and economical operation of all systems and equipment.
• Coach and provide feedback to staff.
• Other duties, as required.
