Job summary

Serco Canada Inc. is seeking a capable supervisor for snow and ice operations at Goose Bay to support NORAD and DND missions. You will lead a shift, ensure safety, and coordinate with military customers.

The role emphasizes strong supervision, incident logging, and remote-site work. The position requires a NL Class 3 license with 8/9 endorsements, three years in heavy equipment operation, and the ability to obtain DND/RDDC certification and Enhanced Reliability clearance.

Qualifications

• Must hold a NL Class 3 driver’s license with 8 & 9 endorsements.
• Minimum three years’ experience operating heavy equipment for snow and ice control in airfield/ domestic environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DND/RDDC certification.
• Ability to obtain Enhanced Reliability security clearance (potential upgrade to Secret II).
• Strong computer skills (MS Office).
• Ability to evaluate risk and implement mitigations.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned personnel to remove snow and ice from streets, roads, parking lots, entrances and hydrants.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are inspected, maintained and operated per manuals.
• Obtain current weather information and adjust SNIC operations as needed.
• Log problems in the SNIC Diary and train crew members as required.
• Operate vehicles and equipment to maintain skills and experience.
• Work off site and in remote areas as required.
• Fill in for Lead HEO during absence.
