Job summary

Serco Canada Inc. is seeking an on-site worker for Goose Bay, Labrador, to support maintenance, landscape tasks, and fleet operations. The role requires a valid NL Driver’s License Class 5, a Ramp Defensive Driving Course, and the ability to obtain enhanced reliability clearance.

Duties include grounds keeping, snow and grass maintenance, and operating light vehicles and equipment. The position involves working at remote locations, logging hours daily, and ensuring accurate reports.

Qualifications

• You must have some secondary school education.
• You must possess a valid NL Driver’s License Class 5 (Class 2 and 4 with 9 Endorsement would be an asset).
• You must obtain and maintain a Ramp Defensive Driving Course (DND/RDDC) certification to operate vehicles on the airfield.
• You must obtain and maintain Enhanced Reliability security clearance (may upgrade to Secret Level II).
• You must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Garbage collection from PMQ's, Mess Hall, Trade Shops, and grounds cleanup.
• Perform snow removal per SNIC Plan.
• Perform grass cutting per Grass Cutting Plan.
• Perform landscape maintenance.
• Assist with repairs to concrete and asphalt surfaces on the Airfield and on Domestic roads.
• Repair/replace signage on Domestic roads and on the Airfield.
• Required to assist Trade Shops.
• Lifting heavy materials/equipment in performance of duties.
• Operate light vehicles with proper licensing.
• Operate light vehicles such as 44 Passenger Bus, Taxi and Ambulance.
• Operate specialized equipment such as ride-on lawn mowers, power saws, hedge trimmer, 60LB buster, farm tractor, bobcat loader, snow blower, JLG lift, forklift, turf sweeper, etc.
• Operate communication equipment for Airfield & Domestic operations.
• Dress accordingly.
• Provide courteous service to clients.
• Responsible for recording time daily in TMA.
• Keep accurate logs for pickup and delivery of passengers and cargo.
• Security clearance required to pick up and deliver mail.
• Keep shop and work areas clean and store equipment in designated areas.
• Required to work at remote locations.
• Clean vehicles for Serco and DND users as required.
• Ensure all assigned deliverables and other reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Visibly demonstrate Serco Values and work practices while completing duties.
• Other related duties relevant to this position as may be required.

In This Role, You Will

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
