Matrix Camps, Logistics and Aviation seeks experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for Arctic ice-road projects near Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut. Seasonal, 4 weeks on/2 weeks off, with 12-hour shifts at remote camp sites and FIFO travel.

Positions include operating multiple machines (ldozer, grader, excavators, loaders, snowcat, water/fuel trucks) and require Arctic ice-road experience, valid licenses, and strong safety discipline.

Location: Remote mining site near Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut

Work Schedule: 4 weeks in / 2 weeks out, 12-hour shifts (Seasonal)

Camp Accommodations: Provided | Fly-in / Fly-out

MATRIX is seeking Experienced Operators for Arctic Ice Road familiar with ice, land and lake crossings for the construction and maintenance of a northern winter ice road project in Nunavut. This is a 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotational position with fully remote camp accommodations.

Requirements

Key qualifications and requirements

• Minimum: Proven Arctic ice-road experience over ice, land and lake crossings, including demonstrated success navigating seasonal routes and associated hazards
• Prior heavy equipment operation experience on Arctic ice roads (role-specific as applicable)
• Must provide all current training certifications and sign-offs relevant to your role (see mandatory vs. optional below)
• Ability to work in remote northern conditions and live in remote camp environments
• Valid operator licenses appropriate to the role (e.g., CDL or provincial equivalents for drivers; equipment-specific certifications for operators)
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to risk management
• Ability to work rotating shifts (including nights) and be away from home for extended periods
• Pre-employment clearance requirements may apply, including medical, criminal background checks, and drug & alcohol testing

Preferred Licensing & Certifications

• Heavy Equipment Operator Certification or documented, proven relevant experience
• 3-5 years of Arctic ice-road experience
• Prior experience working in a remote camp setting
