Job Summary
Love the idea of working where the air is fresh, the views are unreal, and your "commute" includes snow-capped peaks? At Mount Washington Alpine Resort, you can spend your days surrounded by adventure — and get paid for it.
As the Lead Food Expediter at Ted’s Pub, you'll lead the expediting team and act as the primary link between the kitchen and front-of-house staff. You'll help ensure every plate leaving the kitchen is accurate, timely, properly presented, and delivered to the correct guest.
In a fast-paced après-ski environment, you'll coordinate food flow, support service communication, train and guide food expediters and runners, and help maintain high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and guest service. If you're organized, confident, detail-oriented, and able to lead calmly under pressure, this is a great opportunity to be part of the Mount Washington Alpine Resort food and beverage team.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting food expediters, food runners, and other service support staff during daily operations
- Coordinating the flow of food between the kitchen, expediting station, food runners, and servers
- Assigning tasks and organizing team responsibilities to support efficient service

- Alerting the kitchen or front-of-house team to delays and helping resolve issues quickly
- Maintaining an organized and efficient expo line, heat lamp, pass area, and service station
- Ensuring the expediting station is clean, fully stocked, and ready for service
- Training, coaching, and mentoring food expediters and runners on service standards and procedures
- Providing direction and feedback to team members during busy service periods
- Assisting with organizing take-out orders to ensure accuracy and readiness
- Supporting food runners as needed by helping run food or drinks during peak periods
- Maintaining awareness of daily specials, menu changes, dietary requirements, and pub features
- Communicating menu updates and special instructions to servers and kitchen staff
- Staying knowledgeable about mountain activities, events, and resort departments to answer guest questions when approached
- Supporting smooth communication and service flow between the front and back of house
- Following all food safety, health, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
- Communicating operational concerns, equipment needs, and staffing issues to the Kitchen Manager or Front of House Manager

Resort Conditions
Working at a Winter Resort means no two days are the same, and that's part of the adventure! You'll get to experience a variety of unique locations, from cozy lodges to scenic mountain-top venues only accessible by chairlift. Be prepared to embrace the elements; whether it's bluebird skies, fresh snowfall, or the infamous coastal rain. Expect to navigate multi-level lodges, steep stairways, and outdoor areas where the terrain can be sloped, snowy, muddy, or slippery, so good footwear is essential, indoors and out. Walking through large, icy parking lots is also part of the daily journey. If you love fresh air, stunning views, and a workplace that keeps you on your toes, this is the spot for you!
