Job summary

BHP in Saskatoon is seeking a Lead Engineer Electrical & Instrumentation to shape the E&I engineering scope for the Jansen Potash Project. You will provide technical leadership across high- and low-voltage systems ensuring safe, compliant, cost-effective solutions that meet BHP standards.

Based in Saskatoon with hybrid work, you will collaborate with Operations, Reliability, Maintenance and Technology teams, supervise design reviews, and drive risk-informed decisions throughout project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• P.Eng. registration in Canada required or in process.
• Significant mining/industrial experience essential.
• Experience with potash/underground operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Govern the E&I as-built blueprint and manage handover deliverables.
• Set and govern E&I standards and specifications for operation.
• Monitor assets and advise on renewals/replacements.
• Provide E&I technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
• Implement E&I strategies, plans, and systems per BHP rules.
• Support design-for-risk, procurement, and data-driven initiatives.
• Ensure designs meet Canadian and Saskatchewan mining regs.
• Identify risks and apply BHP risk framework for safe outcomes.
• Participate in technical document reviews and approvals.
