Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Thornhill, Ontario to lead design and delivery of electrical systems for critical infrastructure. You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive solutions that matter to communities.

You bring 10+ years of consulting design in industrial settings, a Electrical Engineering degree, and a P.Eng in Ontario. Proficiency in ETAP, SKM or EasyPower, and knowledge of codes will help you excel at this role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical consulting design experience in the industrial sector.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering; P.Eng designation in Ontario (PEO).
• Expertise in low- and medium-voltage systems including switchgear and MCCs.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower for power system studies.
• Knowledge of industrial automation and communication protocols.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (OESC, OBC, IEEE, CSA, OHSA).

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for power distribution, control systems, lighting, and safety systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare proposals, technical memos, and design reports.
• Engage in site reviews, RFIs, and construction oversight.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and best practices.
