Job summary

Lead Development Miner/Jumbo Operator at Dumas Contracting in Timmins, Ontario, will lead a development crew and operate a Jumbo drill to advance underground headings safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include drilling, blasting, and installing ground support while adhering to mine plans and safety standards.

The position requires underground hard rock mining experience and a proven safety record, with a 14/14 rotation and 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating a Jumbo drill in underground development mining.
• Ability to cycle a full round and interpret drilling patterns accurately.
• Proven experience leading a development crew.
• Outstanding safety record and strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate Jumbo drill to cycle full rounds according to the mining plan, following geology control for minimal dilution.
• Lead a development crew to achieve safe and productive results.
• Construct and maintain underground installations as the face advances.
• Organize muck removal and maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Ensure compliance with Dumas and site‑specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Conduct pre‑operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment, reporting all issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet all targets.
• Participate in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.

Wage: $68.80 - $83.50
