Job summary

Dumas Contracting Inc. is seeking a Lead Development Miner/Jumbo Operator to manage a development crew and operate a Jumbo drill across multiple Timmins sites. You will advance underground headings safely while drilling, blasting, and installing ground support in line with mine plans.

We require a proven track record in underground development mining, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to direct teams to achieve targets while maintaining equipment and site standards.

Qualifications

• Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core with all required specialty modules.
• Underground Hard Rock Mining Supervisory Common Core modules are a strong asset.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating a Jumbo drill in underground development mining.
• Ability to cycle a full round and interpret drilling patterns accurately.
• Proven experience leading a development crew.
• Outstanding safety record and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent safety record and commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate Jumbo drill to cycle full rounds according to the mining plan, following geology control for minimal dilution.
• Lead a development crew to achieve safe and productive results.
• Construct and maintain underground installations as the face advances.
• Organize muck removal and maintain clean, safe work areas
• Ensure compliance with Dumas and site-specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment, reporting all issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet all targets.
• Participate in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.

Rotation

7/7, 14/14, 4/5/5/4

Shift

10 - 12 Hour shifts, depending on the site schedule

Wage

$68.80 - $79.90

Potential Renumeration
