Job summary

Dumas Contracting Ltd. in Timmins, Ontario, is seeking a Jumbo Drill Operator to safely operate jumbo drills underground and advance mine development. This role requires strong safety practices, precise drilling, and collaboration with the team.

You will perform pre-operational checks, install ground support, maintain equipment, and work with supervisors to meet production targets. A minimum of 2 years’ experience and preferred Ontario underground certification are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating jumbo drills in an underground mining environment.
• Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core certification preferred.
• Ability to work in physically demanding and confined environments, required.
• Excellent safety record and commitment to safe work practices, required.

• Operate jumbo drills to perform accurate drilling for development headings according to line and grade specifications.
• Install ground support as required, including bolts and mesh.
• Ensure compliance with Dumas and site-specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment, reporting all issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet production targets.
• Participate in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.

Job description

Position: Jumbo Drill Operator.

Work Location/Project: Near Timmins, Ontario.

Rotation: Dependent on Project Site – 5/2, 7/7, 14/14.

Shift: Dependent on Project Site – 10.5HRs, 11HRs, 12HRs.

Wage: $39.00/HR & Overtime + Potential for discretionary performance-based bonuses.

Employment Terms: Permanent Full-Time.

Language of Work: English.

About the Role
