Job summary

TD Bank Group is building a modern data platform in Toronto to support real-time analytics, AI-ready foundations, and regulatory reporting. You will own end-to-end data architecture, govern data products, and drive API contracts across GTB.

This role blends hands-on design with strategic leadership, operating within the Enterprise Architecture framework. Lead with Databricks, Spark, Kafka, and Azure to create scalable, observable data pipelines and governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data engineering or software engineering experience with the last 3+ in architecture or technical leadership.
• Proven track record delivering production-grade data platforms at enterprise scale.
• Deep expertise in Databricks, Delta Lake, and data platform governance.
• Strong foundation in Apache Spark and large-scale distributed data processing.
• Hands-on with event-driven architectures (Kafka/Confluent) and real-time data pipelines.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native data platform delivery.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and defining paths forward when requirements are incomplete.

Responsibilities

• Define and steward the GTB Data Platform architecture across domains.
• Design data products and API contracts surface intelligence to client-facing systems.
• Establish enterprise-wide data governance, quality, and observability.
• Lead AI/ML foundation patterns: feature stores, model serving, vector storage.
• Maintain engineering standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns.
• Lead architecture reviews and enable DevSecOps for data pipelines.
