Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a Cook 2 for the Adult Daycare team at Margaret Fulton Centre in North Vancouver, BC. The role involves planning and preparing meals, supervising Cook 1s and staff, and ensuring strict cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.

Candidates must complete a 12-month cooking program and hold a Food Safe Certificate. The position may require flexible hours and adherence to the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized 12-month cooking program or equivalent.
• Current Food Safe Certificate is required.
• Knowledge of food preparation, baking and meat cutting.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare meals and snacks for the Adult Daycare program.
• Purchase food items and supplies per procedures.
• Provide direction to Cook 1s, food service workers, clients and volunteers.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the work area; perform related administrative tasks.
