The role emphasizes shipping secure, compliant financial features, collaborating with CTO and product teams, and leading a high-stakes fintech engineering effort within a cloud-first environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years backend engineering experience
• 2+ years fintech/payments experience
• Expert-level with NestJS/Node.js and TypeScript
• Hands-on with ledger systems or financial data modeling
• Scaled backend systems for high transaction volumes
• Proficient in PostgreSQL and database optimization
• Experience with payment processing, financial APIs, and regulatory compliance (PCI, SOC 2)
• Ownership of critical systems in fintech environment
• Clear communication of complex technical/financial concepts

Responsibilities

• Build and scale backend services using NestJS/TypeScript on Google Cloud Platform
• Design and maintain ledger systems and financial data models
• Architect and optimize payment processing pipelines
• Integrate with financial APIs, payment processors, and banking systems with PCI compliance
• Build resilient microservices with PubSub for event-driven architecture
• Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and GCP services
• Own financial systems end-to-end from design to production monitoring
• Collaborate with product and compliance teams to ship secure financial features
