GoodLeap seeks a senior backend engineer to architect and evolve scalable APIs and backend services for contractor financial tools.

You will mentor engineers, lead design efforts, and collaborate across Product, Design, Finance, Risk, and Operations to deliver secure, observable

Qualifications

8+ years of software development experience focusing on backend systems.
Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
Strong system design skills and experience building scalable, secure distributed systems.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and evolve scalable APIs and backend services for contractor financial tools.
Build secure, reliable capabilities that support payments and financial workflows.
Integrate with internal and external systems while keeping services maintainable.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Finance, Risk, and Operations.
Drive the full software development lifecycle from design to post-launch support.
Mentor engineers, set high standards for design, security, and code quality.
Champion observability, monitoring, and incident response.
